
Marisa and April were introduced by a friend while attending UGA. They becane instant friends threw belly dance. In 2000, after several performances together, they started the UGA belly dance club. They have been teaching Belly Dance ever since.
April has been belly dancing for 11 years this year. Her roots are in Egyptian Cabaret. She fell in love with belly dance when she started taking lessons from Gail in Agusta, Ga. She teaches belly dance to improve a womens self image.
Marisa began dancing and performing Persian Dance when she was 5. She was taught by her Aunts and Grandma. She started learning Arabic and Moroccan style Belly Dance at the age of 20 from one of her Aunts that is a professional Saudi Arabian Belly Dancer. Recently she has been learning American Tribal, Turkish, Polynesian styles of dance. She now teaches different styles of Middle Eastern and World Dance.
